Atlanta Business Radio Interviews Gloria Lane Publisher of Season's Magazine and Joe Lindenmayer with TSS Photography
Please click on the POD button to listen to the latest Atlanta Business Radio
show podcast broadcasting live each Wednesday at 10am EDT from
Atlanta, GA, USA. Here's how to listen to the podcast of our show. Active in the community, Lane is a member of the Marietta Rotary Club, served as a founding member of the Outstanding Young People of Atlanta, a member of Leadership Georgia and the first female president of the Atlanta Press Club. She also got involved with a little thing called the Beastly Feast in its first year. Planning this fundraiser for Zoo Atlanta was an eye-opening experience, Lane said. "We had to beg a barbecue establishment to donate food and arrange to borrow a dance floor and get a band!" With no expense budget, Lane and the other volunteer committee members staged the event with success - and even made some money. Today, the Beastly Feast raises more than $1 million in one night. Gloria went on to chair other successful events, such as the Humane Society's Pedigreed Affair at the illustrious Piedmont Driving Club and a day-long seminar for AT&T, introducing new products to Atlanta women. Lane left television to be a stay-at-home mom and, eventually, a magazine publisher. Over the years, she'd grown weary of the negativity embraced by TV news with its mantra, "If it bleeds, it leads." She wanted to report on the positive. In 1981, against the advice of friends and colleagues, she launched Season Magazine to spotlight charitable events, dedicated volunteers and upbeat happenings in Atlanta. The response was so tremendous the magazine went from an annual to a quarterly. Now she has begun Atlanta Social Season, a newly redesigned publication getting back to the heart of Atlantans. "In nearly 25 years, we have never published a negative word," Lane says, "and we never will!" While the magazine continues to cover Atlanta's social scene, the editorial content includes include profiles, local interviews with Atlanta's top philanthropists, fashion, travel, health & beauty, art, dining and home & design. "We are still keeping with the original mission to showcase Atlantans doing great things for our wonderful city," Lane says. For more information please go to Gloria's website www.seasonmagazine.com Next up we had on Joe Lindenmayer President of TSS Photography talking about how he develops new products to cater to consumer needs, working with home-based franchisees, successfully building a home-based business concept into the nation's industry leader, and TSS Photography"s unique apprentice concept to train new franchisees. After 25 years as the nation’s leading youth photography franchise, TSS Photography has a great deal to commemorate: 230 locations throughout 42 states, 165 franchisees across the nation taking photos of more than 1.5 million children annually, a product line consisting of more than 200 novelty photo items and a brand synonymous with today’s most progressive youth photography products and services.Joe explained "We credit our
tremendous growth and marketplace endurance to the recruitment of dedicated
franchisees who consistently exemplify the TSS Photography brand in markets
throughout the country by providing professional and hassle-free customer
service, product innovation and community care and involvement.” Since its founding in 1983, TSS Photography has evolved its product and service offerings to remain the leader in the youth photography industry. In addition to offering a wide variety of photography services for schools, youth sports, corporations, special events and other community organizations, TSS franchisees help parents turn their children’s ordinary portraits into lasting keepsakes. Children’s digital photos can be electronically formatted on more than 200 different novelty products at the TSS corporate laboratory in Atlanta. The evolution to digital equipment has helped franchisees step up their quality services with reduced turnaround time, immediate photo quality feedback, and increased online re-ordering options for customers. Some of the most popular products include a mock Sports Illustrated magazine cover, trading cards and cozy throws and pillows. Innovative customer offerings also include life-size wall images called 'WallPix ™,’ photo memo boards and photo mug mates, to name just a few. TSS launched the unique “Young Masters” program, where images of children’s artwork can be transferred onto mugs, mouse pads, sweatshirts, and other products that can be used everyday. Joe said “Parents end up discarding much of their kids’ artwork because they simply run out of room on the fridge. We help parents turn these precious pieces of their children’s youth into beautiful, functional memorabilia.” TSS Photography also increases its market share through alliances with national organizations and sports leagues such as the Babe Ruth League, Inc., National Recreation and Parks Association, YMCA and Police Athletic League. In addition, TSS Photography has a history of deep-rooted philanthropy within the corporate culture, giving back to the community as a vital partner with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Michael explained that Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is now part of the mainstream. Customer strategy is “ordinary” and something that is a day-to-day concern for all enterprises, large or small. The business universe has shifted its focus from the company at its center to the customer at its hub. As a result, the CRM industry has matured. More than ever, firms that do nothing but work involving the analysis and enrichment of customers abound. CRM as an industry has not just practitioners, but vendors, integrators, management consultants, boutique specialists, evangelists, analysts, pundits, bloggers, authors and even detractors! As the industry has matured, so has the customer – not just the industry’s customer but the customer that CRM was created to support. The customer experience, formerly an art and a gut check, is now a cutting edge science that is necessary for business growth and differentiation in an era where customers are fully empowered and highly volatile. CRM Association represents the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) industry and all its constituents. CRM represents what is now becoming an organized body of knowledge and strategy to be reckoned with. Today we talked to Joel Nunez founder of ImHonest.com. ImHONEST.com is a non-traditional lost and found service that provides identification and recovery for items of value. In addition to offering an affordable and user friendly solution for owners to proactively label and register their valuables, ImHONEST.com makes it easy for the finders of lost items to act on their honesty. ImHONEST.com was founded in 2004 by international marketing executive Joël A.Núñez, after a frantic search for his missing wallet drove him to create a solution that rewards honesty and donates a portion of proceeds to not-for-profit organizations. The issue of finding lost valuables is becoming growing in importance. According to the Consumer Electronics Association, the average American household now owns 26 consumer electronics products. MP3 players, digital cameras, and notebook computers - all easily lost or misplaced – are three of the top five fastest-growing product segments in the study. Unfortunately, as the number of portable electronic devices continues to grow, so too does the risk of losing them. In fact, a global survey of 900 taxi drivers by mobile devices security firm Pointsec showed that thousands of mobile phones, PDAs and laptops are forgotten in taxis every day. Two of the most common reasons that lost items are not returned to their owners are: Inability to identify the owner of the lost item and Lack of an easy way to return the found item The ImHONEST.com system, with its user-friendly label registration and reporting system, solves both of these issues. ImHONEST.com makes it easy for finders of lost items to return the items to their owners by providing:

Remember if you want a pretty comprehensive listing of all kinds of Atlanta Events including Business Networking events please check out www.AtlantaEvent.com. Today we talked to some of Atlanta's leading business owners who are doing some very creative things in their respective industries. First up we had on Tunstall Rushton President and CEO of Benevolink, a new movement in corporate giving that links individuals, corporations and nonprofit organizations to improve communities. Theresa Barber’s diverse experience in business and franchising gives her the expertise to carefully guide entrepreneurs in the sometimes-difficult path of choosing the best franchise for them. For eight years Ms. Barber managed a multi-million dollar worldwide tour company, which gave her extensive experience in management, finance, sales, and marketing. Her love of travel brought her into the franchising arena in 1996 when she joined Uniglobe Travel as a Franchise Advisor, becoming a top performer early on. She accepted the role of Manager of Business Development when she moved from New England to Georgia. Here she worked directly with franchisees in the Northeast and Southeast regions to help them achieve their business goals. She advised them in areas of staffing, marketing, and budgeting for growth. Ms. Barber conducted regular regional meetings with franchisees, trained owners and employees in technology, customer relations, and franchise “best practices.” Her main focus prior to moving back into sales as an Area Developer with Uniglobe was “hand holding” the new franchisees for a smooth transition into ownership. In 2000, Ms. Barber was recruited by Netspace to spearhead the franchise sales department of a brand new technology franchise. With her strong sales and management skills, and the love of the internet motivating her, she soon became the national leader in franchise sales, and helped build a very successful franchise organization. She assisted in developing internal processes, and trained new franchisees in technology, sales, and marketing. Today,
Theresa Barber utilizes the skills that she has acquired over the years
to help individuals find a perfect match in the franchising arena that
compliments their own skills and allow them to achieve their goals. If you are thinking about buying a franchise you should give Theresa a call and take her up on her free consultation she can save you some time and some money. For more info please check out her website http://tbarber.franchoice.com Its first product, EyeSite™, is an automated vision-testing kiosk, which allows consumers to quickly and efficiently check their vision without assistance. SoloHealth is a spin-out venture originating from CIBA Vision, the eye care unit of Novartis AG. As consumers become more accustomed to many types of fast and efficient self-service transactions, (ATMs,, airline check-in, photos, etc.) and with their growing knowledge and concern about health, it is inevitable that more people will embrace self-directed health care. With EyeSite™ as the entry product, our goal is to become a world leader in self-service health screening and efficient referral to health care providers. According to the American Optometric Association, the average person only visits an eye care professional every 36-48 months, about half as often as recommended. Because eyesight usually deteriorates very slowly and can
easily go unnoticed, many people don’t realize they could benefit from vision
correction and the importance of regular exams. The EyeSite™ self-service
kiosk, located in high-traffic locations, will entice individuals to assess
their vision more often, resulting in greater utilization of services from eye care
professionals and more sales of vision care products. For more information about Bart and his company please go to his website www.solo-health.com |

This morning we had on marketer Bernadette Peters, owner of Natural Marketing Services and Mike Wittenstein, Chief Experience Officer with Storyminers. Bernadette started us off by explaining that her passion is to help businesses attract clients and build strong relationships. One of her beliefs is that the holy grail of marketing is to not have to do it . . . however realistically a successful business can hope to discover marketing initiatives that are at least semi-automated. She thinks that small business owners should always test their marketing before rolling out extensive campaigns. She comes from a direct marketing background and feels that each piece should have some sort of tracking device, that may be a coupon, a backline phone number or a unique url. For more information about Bernadette and her firm please go to her website www.naturalmarketingservices.com Next up we had on Mike Wittenstein, CEO (Chief Experience Officer) of Storyminers. They help you discover the factors (often surprising) that would vault you past the competition. With Mike's and the rest of his team's help you'll be able to hear the real voices of your customers. Mike explained that meaningful customer experiences occur when your company puts
the things customers care most about at the heart of your brand, then
designs in the capability to deliver on-brand experiences every time. He believes that a business should make the right promise to their customers for the right reasons and then keep that promise. For more information about Mike and his company please go to their website www.storyminers.com |

This morning we have Part 2 in our series about how to make your medical practice more profitable and run smoother. First we had on Iris Grimm creator of the Balanced Physician Success Program. The Balanced Physician program is an intense, action-oriented program that addresses the interpersonal and personal challenges of physicians and teaches them the skills to: Control the stress that they face daily; Feel energized and positive at the end of the day when they get home to their family; Be able to have time for themselves their golf game or favorite hobby without neglecting their family; Take their patient service to a higher level with a highly motivated and satisfied staff and realize their expectations of building a successful practice that makes a difference to their patients. Increasingly, healthcare organizations realize the importance of programs that address interpersonal skills, behavior and the personal performance of physicians. Long-lasting change and improvements of these important skills cannot be achieved through an individual presentation; they need to have effective follow-through. For more information please go to her website www.balancedphysican.com Next we had on Ann Schaeker with SurgiMed Services. In
today's modern practice, computers and software should alleviate all the
hassles of complicated and tedious business processes. Unfortunately, practices
quickly find they lack the knowledge, personnel, and time to efficiently manage
their systems and their cash flow begins to spiral out of control. There are
few doctors that enjoy this aspect of their practice & even fewer that can
afford the time to become further involved in billing, administration, &
staff management. |

function. "Impact of Glycomics" is the lay person's and the professional's source for scientific knowledge. His shpow will bring together the great minds in this emerging field in order to

Here are 3 ways Sean built his network 1- Searched on companies he had worked for and schools he had attended to reconnect with people he had known in the past 2- Looked through his own CardScan contact list for people he had met though Chamber events. 3-Searched for people he had met while doing business including current clients. Sean also shared some great tips about common mistakes people make on Linked-In...like using the canned text they provide when sending out connection invitations rather than personalizing their message.
